IPv6 in Mobile Networks with Core Network Implications

Course description

The course IPv6 in Mobile Networks gives a thorough description of the Internet protocol IPv6 and the implications on the mobile core infrastructure. The course is focused on the protocols and mechanisms defined within IPv6 as well as functions affected by IPv6, such as routing protocols and DNS. The course also provides an understanding of the Transition Mechanism functions and how they are used to establish IPv6 networks in a world of IPv4 networks, thus ensuring connectivity between different IPv6 networks and between IPv6 and IPv4 networks. Furthermore, the IPv6 relation to mobile core network infrastructure is addressed. The role of GTP-v2 and dual IP stack UE traffic cases are highlighted in a number of examples.
